Spring Break or What Really Matters

I love the concept of spring break, until it actually arrives and I then realize that it is NOT A BREAK FOR ME!

I do, however, get to take my kids to the in-laws tonite (one nite only, but I'm going to beg mercy for more....). I'm training them to pack their own suitcases (since their father didn't learn til AFTER college...), but I always, ahem...edit. Here's what Wyatt packed on his own:
He has all the vitals: A car, a gun, his pillow, his dancing machine, and one shoe. Sounds like all you need for a great Spring Break (minus a keg).
He also had jammies and clean underpants, so we're getting somewhere.

More Mexico

Just to make those of you still stuck in a frozen tundra feel worse, I got some new photos of our trip to Mexico, just to rub it in:

This first shot involved no tequila, I promise. And yes, the ground was very uneven. I am not that short, as my sister so deftly pointed out.

We went out on the ocean in a raft (yikes!) to watch whales. This is mating and birthing season, so we watched this guy doing his mating dance. You can see how close the other boat was, and I was greatful not to be in that one. (Although, that one offered adult beverages, which I may have needed, had I been that close....)

This is Aaron and 2 other guys, sitting on our raft. In the back, you see Lover's Beach, that is good for swimming. On the other side of the rocks, is Divorce beach, where the Pacific Ocean meets the inlet, and it really rough. Of course, we rode the raft through an even smaller gap in the rocks and over the waves, much to my dismay. It was pretty, though!

Slugger

Wyatt has joined a Tee Ball team of 3 & 4 year olds. I went to get him cleats(? spikes?) this week (he is one size smaller than the littlest size they make!).

He also got the xxsmall baseball pants, and, get this, a left-handed glove (also World's teeniest.) He appears to throw left, and bat right. Can that be?

Last Wednesday, he came home from practice sneezing and coughing (welcome, spring!), but by Friday was wheezing and gasping. So we went to the doctor, and he got a breathing treatment, some steroids, and a new inhaler! We also went for a chest x-ray after he was chock full of uppers. Here's how it went with the x-ray tech:

"What's that? How's it work? Why is mom wearing that apron? Ohhhh, look at my apron, how cute? What's your name? Are you taking a photo of my tummy? Is it going to be loud? Will this hurt? Can I have more chic-fil-a? Where's my Sprite?"

X-Ray tech: "He sure is a talker."

Me: "You should meet his dad..."

Anyway, he's fine now.
